Flu Season
Hi yall!!!
Not much to report from this week haha. The flu is going around like crazy here in the south. They've canceled school because of how many people are sick. The flu really throws a wrench in our plans for the week but it's okay! Our friends are all sick. Gotta love it. Tis the season.
One thing that I've come to be really grateful for this week is temples and the covenants we make in them. We are helping a member get prepared for her endowment, so we've been studying about it a lot this week! When talking with her, she was saying that her whole motivation to get to the temple is to get sealed with her parents. Her parents died awhile ago and she has missed them a ton. One day in her prayers, she prayed to feel them near her. After she closed the prayer, she felt both of her parents hugging her even if she could not see them there. She told us that she needs to have that feeling when she goes into heaven. She needs to be with her family for eternity. Isn't that the sweetest experience she had? I'm excited to help her feel prepared for the temple!
I'm so grateful for temples and the opportunity to be with our families for eternity. The sealing power is such a blessing to all of us. I'm so blessed that I have such an awesome family to spend eternity with. Temples are literally the best. Go to the temple if you have one nearby!! Don't take them for granted!! I sure do miss being in the temple.
My favorite scripture from this week is Alma 17:11
"yet ye shall be patient in long-suffering and afflictions, that ye may show forth good examples unto them in me, and I will make an instrument of thee in my hands unto the salvation of many souls."
I loved this scripture before my mission and I've come to love this scripture even more since I've been on my mission. Even though trials are guaranteed, as long as we have patience (which is super hard lol) and turn to the Lord then we can become an instrument in His hands!! Thats all I want to be on my mission, an effective instrument in His hands. Without Him, missionary work would be nothing. I'm so grateful for my Savior that makes up where I lack (which is a lot haha!!) He is our Savior. Your Savior. My Savior. I love Him!!
Something funny that happened yesterday was during the sacrament, someone's phone started blasting "God's Country". I love the south yeehaw.
I love yall so much and have a blessed week!!! Read your scriptures, say your prayers, and watch the world cup!!!! (Bruh why did the USA get eliminated so early, go Messi tho)
