TALKING TENNESSEE
Hi yall!!!
This week was the longest fastest week ever. Time is so weird haha
This week was full of cancellations, replanning, and feeling the spirit!!
My absolute favorite moment of the week was with our blind friends Betty and EJ!!! We were talking with the senior couple about them and turns out, Betty and EJ were about to be put on the do not contact list before we met them. They were just not wanting to be talked to at all. Fast forward to now, we go over two or three times a week! How awesome is that? Betty was very pushed into baptism and doesn't really know anything about the church so we've been able to go through the lessons with her and answer all the questions she has! This week we went through the plan of salvation and HOLY COW it was so good. When we got to resurrection and how our bodies will be perfect, Betty realized that one day she will be able to see her daughter's face. LITERAL TEARS WHAT. I was just in awe of what I get to do as a missionary. I got to tell Betty that even though she's blind now, SHE CAN SEE HER DAUGHTER ONE DAY! I'm so grateful to be a missionary. It is so rewarding to tell people the knowledge of this gospel that has already blessed me so much in my life. I am just so thankful. AND Betty came to church this week too! She loved it and we were able to get all the info to get her and EJ's records moved to this ward! Literally such a miracle with those guys. I love them so much.
Do y'all remember how I said I lost my favorite ring last week? IT HAS BEEN FOUND. MIRACLE. It's actually a really cool story. Our friend Tosha was walking home yesterday and decided to cut through her grass to get to her door which is actually something she never does. She opened her phone up to call us and saw something shiny in the grass and it was my ring haha. She didn't know it was mine though. She brought it inside and then that's when we knocked on her door! She was gonna leave her phone and the ring inside but then something told her to bring it out. Then while we were talking the ring flew off and landed by my foot and then boom my whole week was made. I love that ring. We told Tosha about how I lost it and it's my favorite and she loved it! She said it was like a little sign from God that everything is going to be okay because the spirit is letting her know what to do to help others! Gotta love it.
That's about all for this week. My favorite scripture from my studies this week is 1 Nephi 7:17. This is when Nephi's brothers tied him up
"17 But it came to pass that I prayed unto the Lord, saying: O Lord, according to my faith which is in thee, wilt thou deliver me from the hands of my brethren; yea, even give me strength that I may burst these bands with which I am bound."
What I love from this scripture is that instead of Nephi praying that everything would go away, he prayed for strength to change his circumstances. Praying for strength is relying on the enabling power of Christ's Atonement. We can find strength through Him when we feel like we can't endure anymore! I just loved that.
I hope y'all have a blessed week! I love yall lots!! Say your prayers and read your scriptures!
