HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
Hi yall!!
This week has been so fun! Lots of Halloween activities. I love it.
We had a Halloween activity with the YSA and then the ward fall festival! We carved pumpkins with the YSA. I did the Salt Lake temple, well I attempted to carve the temple, and I found out that no one out here knows what the Salt Lake temple looks like lol. Or maybe I'm just bad at pumpkin carving. Probably that. The ward fall festival was awesome! We got to try bear chili. Bear is not too bad. There were lots of cute costumes and it was seriously the highlight of the week to hand out candy to all the kids!
We also had interviews with President Graham this week! He is so in tune with the spirit, he said everything that I needed to hear. Funny story, we talked about our friend Tosha and how she has a rough past. President Graham says he wants to meet with her next week to see if she can get baptized! When we told Tosha this, she said "I can't wait to meet your prophet!!" Sooooo yeah. Lots of work to do for next week haha.
Our district had this great idea to have a Restoration movie night this week. We came to the church and set up a projector to watch the Joseph Smith movie. Everyone brought treats and it was going to be awesome. We watched the movie and it hits all the points of the Restoration lesson so we were inviting all our friends so that they could learn more about the restoration. Yeah well the time came to start and NO ONE SHOWED UP. There's 3 sets of missionaries and no one any of us invited showed up HAHA.
The Book of Mormon video that came out this week HAD ME CRYING. Jesus and angels blessing little kids? TEARS. ABSOLUTE TEARS. I love Jesus.
During testimony meeting earlier this month, the bishopric got up and said that the ward doesn't feed the missionaries enough. So we're getting fed pretty good now yeehaw thanks bishop. Some lady even gave us $100 in Chick-fil-A gift cards this week. That was awesome. Holy chicken.
My favorite chapter of the Book of Mormon is Jacob 5. Like best of the best. So much can be learned from it. The allegory of the olive tree can show us so much about the character of God. The verse that has stuck out to me this week is verse 41. The Lord of the vineyard is working and trying to get the tree to produce good fruit, but nothing seems to be working. He then says,
41 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard wept, and said unto the servant: What could I have done more for my vineyard?
This verse, to me, perfectly describes how our Heavenly Father and Savior feel about us. He doesn't get mad at the trees, He just wonders what He can do more to help them. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are the best teammates we could ever have. They're in our corner. They're our biggest cheerleaders. They want what's best for us. When we are successful, They are there celebrating with us. When we stumble and fall, They are there weeping with us. They want to help us. I have such a testimony that we have a loving Heavenly Father and a perfect Savior. They love us and know us perfectly. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a representative of Jesus Christ! He is my Savior and my best friend!
I love yall so much!! Have a blessed week! 3 months of being a missionary tomorrow woot woot.
