MTC!!!

Howdy everyone! Me and Sister Maxwell are here sitting waiting for our laundry to be done so I thought it would be a great time to write the weekly!

I have absolutely loved the MTC. Time moves so weird here. It feels like I have been here for years but I only think it's been 4 days. The day goes by so fast but the hours are long. Anyways, I still love it even though it still feels so long. I didn't realize that I could grow so much in such a little time.

I have been able to see so many of my sweet friends here (Elder Peterson, Elder Reid, Elder Greenhalgh, Sister Austed, Sister Jones, Sister Turpin, and so many more!!) and it has been so fun!! It has been a blessing seeing people from home. I have also met so many awesome missionaries! My district is so fun in person. I got everyone hooked on trying to guess everyone's height before we see each other in person, and let me tell ya that me and Sister Maxwell caught everyone by surprise. Sister Maxwell is 6 feet tall and I am the shortest one at 5'2. The tallest elder in our district is 6'7 which is crazy! But it is easy to see where my district is in a crowd because Elder Soliai towers over everyone haha.

One thing that I got to study more deeply was the Atonement of Jesus Christ. What a good topic am I right? My love for the Savior and His Atonement has grown so much. We did a two hour study session on Sunday about this topic and I was able to read some awesome scriptures. I put my name in place of these scriptures and it helped me see how personal the Atonement is for me. The scriptures are:

Alma 7:11

"And he shall go forth, suffering MY pains and MY afflictions and MY temptations of every kind"

Mosiah 24:14-15

"And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage... And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon EMMA were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen HER that SHE could bear up HER burdens with ease"

Isn't that so cool? I totally invite you guys to insert yourself into those scriptures when you are having a hard time or even when everything seems like it is going good, reading it as the Savior speaking directly to you was so powerful to me.

Okay there is my little spiritual thought for the day. A funny thing that happened this week happened during a sacrament meeting. Well it wasn't funny in the moment but now we can laugh about it. All week in class we have been preparing ourselves so that we can have a meaningful experience during the sacrament and in church in general. Sister Maxwell unfortunately got sick so we spent church on the bathroom floor. It might not have been a meaningful experience but shout out to Sister Maxwell for making it one of the most memorable haha.

I have a little over a week left here at the MTC and then I will be flying out to join Elder Cowboy Greenhalgh in Tennessee and I cannot wait! The field is white and ready to harvest! I love you all! Have such a good week!!
